Privacy policy

Homemaker (https://www.homemaker-hq.com) is a small, independent app for running a household: tracking what you have at home, planning meals, and making grocery lists. This page explains, in plain language, what information the app keeps, who can see it, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our login provider and are never visible to us.
- Your household: its name, its members' email addresses, and invitations you send.
- What you enter: inventory items, amounts, expiry dates, dietary rules, meal plans, recipes, ratings, grocery lists, and prices from receipts.
- Receipt photos: a photo you upload is read once to pull out the items and prices. The photo itself is not saved; only the extracted items and prices are.
- Kroger connection (only if you choose to connect): a sign-in token from Kroger that lets the app add items to your Kroger cart, and the store you pick. We never see your Kroger password or payment details.
We don't use advertising, ad trackers, or analytics that follow you around the web.
Who can see your information
- Only the members of your household. The database itself blocks every other account from reading or changing your household's information.
- We never sell your information or share it for advertising.
Services that help run the app
Some information is processed by these companies, only as needed to provide the app:
- Supabase stores the app's data and handles logins.
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Anthropic (Claude) reads lists you type or dictate and receipt photos you upload, and writes meal plans from your inventory and dietary rules. It receives only what's needed for that request, under Anthropic's commercial API terms.
- Kroger, if you connect your Kroger account: the app looks up products, prices and stores, and adds the items you choose to your Kroger cart. You review and pay for any order yourself in Kroger's app or website, under Kroger's own privacy policy.
Your choices
- You can edit or remove inventory items, rules, plans and lists at any time in the app.
- You can disconnect Kroger at any time, from the app or from your Kroger account settings.
- To delete your account or your household's data, email hello@homemaker-hq.com. We'll delete it within 30 days.
Keeping it safe
Information travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Secret keys for outside services are kept on the server, never in your browser. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store to what the app needs.
Children
The app is meant for adults running a household and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
